) DID MY USUAL THING... TAPED THE 2 HORIZON CONTAINER TOGATHER AS 1 UNIT, SHOVED THE FRUIT AND BIRDS IN THIS AM BEFORE DAYLIGHT, ZIP TIED THE BOXES SHUT AND LOADED THE BOYS IN THE CAR... DROVE 'EM TO THE PO WHO INFORMED ME THAT EFFECTIVE THE 1ST OF THIS MONTH ALL HORIZON CONATINERS MUST SHIP INDIVIDUALLY AS SEPERATE UNITS. THEY MADE ME CUT THEM APART AND SHIP EACH BOX INDIVIDUALLY. SOOOOOOOO, FOR ALL YOU FOLKS OUT THERE SHIPPING LIVE BIRDS IN MORE THAN 1 CONTAINER BE WARNED AND READY

That's bs,as long as the total measurement does exceed 108",they can shio it.I usually tape 4 single boxes together with no problems.

I'm subscribing to this thread to see what others encounter.

With the USPS getting ready to shut down some local post offices, this may be a maneuver by your local PO to boost their revenue in hopes of staying open. It's my understanding this is one of the main criteria they use to determine which ones stay open and which ones will be closed.

Is yours a small rural PO?

Oh For The Record They Were Taped With The Fiber Reinforced Tape Too, Not Some Clear Thin Cheap Stuff... So It Wasnt Because The Tape Job Was Flimsy.

We Have A Large Pigeon Club Here And They Ship All The Time... The Usual Pigeon Suspect Was In Line With Me, And While They Use The Pigeon Multi Stall Boxes... They Usually Tape 2 Togather... Yep You Guessed It, He Was Borrowing My Knife To Cut His Apart Too.
