Yesterday I went out to do my daily chores and found my yearling peafowl looking like this!!! What is it? What can I do? His head is round like a golf ball. No other issues that I could see, he is acting normal. Eating and drinking. I have never seen anything like it in ten years of owning peas. Any advice?

I have seen this in chickens, they were eating guinea wasp and got stung multipal times.
Bet she will be fine in a day or 2 if not i don't know what else it could be.

Thank you for your thoughts, but I seriously doubt that is the problem. Here in northern Minnesota we haven't even seen a fly yet much less bees. It hasn't even gotten above 45 and we still have a ton of snow.

Could he possibly have banged his head?

Could that be start of sinus infection. I would get on baytril or tylan 200 immediately. Not sure since it looks more localized to throat area. have you looked down its throat to look for obstuctions?

I have not looked. I have seen him eat and drink. He has no what I will call "gagging" to seem like there is an obstruction. No coughing or shaking of the head to indicate sinus or respiratory issues. Nothing coming out of nasal. Also, his entire head is swollen evenly. Not just under they eye in the sinus area. The top of his head is raised high too.
