My 5 month chicks are having some problems........Not all at once.......The first girl was an arucana chick.......Out free ranging during the day into the house at night.......They have fresh water 3 x a day in this missouri heat.......Laying mash is fed in the house and runs........They get scratch two to three times a week and plenty of fresh fruit and vege scraps this time of year..........The first girl was fine one day...........We were getting ready to close up the house one night and here she comes......walking very slowly and very low on her legs.(5 mo old arucana Hen hatched here).........She never improved....Only staying in the house where food and water were readily available and we had to cull her.......A couple weeks later......A 5 month old Blue laced red wyandotte rooster.......from Murray McMurray.....He never got as bad as the arucana.....Last week a 5 month old Jersey giant hen from Cackle hatchery..........One day fine, the next day walking really low on her legs.......(Culled).......tonight........a 5 month old Gold laced wyandotte rooster.........fine yesterday......tonight wants to sit down to eat.....He will if challenged stand on his feet and walk, but I have seen it too often........
