Gritsar, its not that we cannot afford the meds.....they wont give him meds unless we do over a thousand $$$'s in tests...EKG...heart workup. They said it might still not show them what they need to offer meds or do anything. So that is why. I can afford the meds if they would try some without the tests. I did reach a vet today who is 'old school'...and she told me to switch to benadryl like some have said. She also told me that my water pills cannot hurt being as sick as his heart is. I agree about the harm of the water pills....and because i take them too, i am aware of the risks. It is my understanding that i can do what i can....but my dog is dying and i need to do what i am and make a choice for him when i feel its time. I really knew that, but i needed to know what i could do to keep him happy til his time comes. He is not all sad or anything. All i have to do is look at him and his tail wags 100 miles and hour. That is how i gauge his happiness. Brittany's are very happy dogs and they cannot hide it. So when they are not happy....you can easily tell. Thank you all for you well wishes....your support when i needed it, and for your advice and sharing your similar experiences to help me judge mine. I really appreciate all that
Wendy
