I've read on here that the way to win over chicks is through their little bellies. So I stopped and picked them up some yogurt last night, hoping to start and develop a rapport with them. Well, of course, they wanted absolutely nothing to do with it. In fact, one of the 4-week-old birds really through quite a fit when she got some on her beak. The others kicked shavings into it and tramped in it (hilarity ensued), but absolutely nobody ate it. One the the week-old EEs dipped her beak in it, then quickly moved away. It was 2X-protein plain greek yogurt and I left it in the pen for a couple of hours for them to check out.

Anybody have any suggestions on getting them to eat the yogurt or another possible treat for week-to-week-and-a-half olds?

Haha, I know! Everybody has these cute stories about their chicks diving into it and and destroying it, but my girls wanted absolutely nothing to do with it! Mealworms, however, little velociraptors!

If you have baled hay sweep up a bucket load of the left over seed heads, put them in a tray and pour the yogurt over it, or pour milk over it and let it sour overnight.
In their desire to get the seeds they will learn to eat the probotics.
Stand back though, they really don't like their beaks covered and they really get to flicking the white stuff
