heat element from LG in homemade bator?

So I'm about done with my LG, I just my last temp spike and drop..if my eggs hatch I'll be surprised. But I was wondering, can I use the heat element from the LG and couple it with a good thermostat, and put it in a new cabinet or something...will it work or will I have the same problems? Or will it cause new problems? Anyone done this?

Do you have your incubator plugged into a surge protector? Maybe that is what is causing the heat spikes. Otherwise, I would say the element is not what is causing it. The thermostat is what allows it to heat up. (I'm not an electrician, it's just a thought)
