Good morning!

Can I use a heat mat meant for seed starting in my brooder? The mat raises the temp 10-20 degrees above ambient temp (according to manufacturer), and is waterproof. Just a wild thought I had. The brooder will be on the kitchen counter.
Thanks in advance!

I have never used one in my brooder but I do use mine in my coop in the winter. It works very well for keeping the coop temperature above freezing and is safe.

I would test it in the brooder to see what temperature you get out of it. Also put a temp gauge on the mat itself to see what the temp is if they were to lay on it. Additionally check what the temp would be if you where to suspend it so they could go under it. It may not provide enough heat.

Keep us posted I am interested in you findings.
