Heat packs good emergency warmer when heat lamp bulb bursts?

If they are huddling and not moving around much they are too cold, if you are really worried for one you could sit it on your lap, though that’s not super convenient..
how warm is the room?

My sister checked on them, they are mostly sleeping but my sister said they feel nice and warm, the room is 24 degrees Celsius and retains heat better than the laundry where we had them, the incubator runs at 37 degrees Celsius in case you think that’s better

And always have at least two backup heat lamps! We use a brooder plate, have two, and two or three heat lamps, they do accumulate over time, and extra backups are always good as insurance.
Do you have a generator if the power goes off? And friends/ family in other areas if you do lose electricity?

We don’t have a generator but we have my mum and step dad nearby, we will be getting just one for now but we will get a second next time we hatch chicks

I would buy two heat lamp bulbs right now, so you have one and a spare.

Have you looked for any other bulbs in your house that produce heat and could be put in the heat lamp? Check by holding your hand near a bulb to see how much heat it makes. In general, incandescent light bulbs will produce enough heat to be useful. The newer fluorescent and LED bulbs will usually not.

Update on the chicks, they are warm, I checked by having my sister place them on my face which is warm and they were warmer than my face, my sister was holding them because her hands are warm and my hands were cold, they are just currently sleeping and they have water, it’s currently 1 AM for us here and the store opens at 9 AM since it’s a Sunday, we will have our brother watch them when we go get the bulbs
