I tried something today, just to see how well it might work. I put a towel over my heat pad, put a thermometer on it, and put a straw hat over the thermometer. I went about my business, remembered it about 2 hours later, and checked the temp. It was right about 101 F. I'm thinking if my 'bator conked out, thermostat went haywire or something. I could probably set something up with the heat pad, a rack to keep the eggs a little above, so they'd be slightly under 101, or maybe if this was without a fan, 101 would be ok.

Have any of you tried a heat pad to hatch eggs? I wouldn't want to try it for an entire hatch, but maybe for a short time, if needed.

Sounds like it could work.

Yeah, I'm gonna have to test it some more, but I bet it'll be usable. I started checking because I thought my thermostat on my LG might be going bad. It's leveled out now, still watching it like a hawk, though. I'm 6 days from part one of this hatch, and 13 days from part two.

I will not lose these eggs!
