Yes, removing them entirely for the first few days is the safest route. Again - most likely won't be a problem to leave them, but it could be a problem.

Yea... that didn’t go well... They are little yellers with just the puppy pads and no shavings!!... I spot cleaned and put the shavings back under the heat plate.. they all cuddle up and are quiet... I guess they made the decision
