Heat wave a my chickens.

So, theres a heat wave thats hit most of the country. Where I live its going to be above 100 today. Yesterday I noticed my hens obviously finding shade anywhere and one hen literally burying herself in my garden soil under a tomato plant. I put out a trash can lid full of water but they had no interest. What can I do to help them stay cool.

i put a mister over my run and gave them frozen fruits and veggies as treats

I guess I should clarify. During the day I let the roam. Atleast right now they are just free ranging and there are only 2 left at this point. But they are obviously hot. I like the frozen treat idea but my chickens are so finicky with food. Corn and banana's are about the only thing they have interest in. And crickets.. LOL.
