So, I guess we should maybe duck tape around the lid to prevent water from getting in. Good point.

I have four that I am using now on 1 gallon plastic waters, I caulked all holes drilled for the fixture and around all the cord area. The way the lid fits it goes down over the lower portion (tightly) so it would have to be sitting in 4-5 inches of water to even have a chance to getting water in the lid. I am running 25- 40 watt bulbs and I love it. Should I have any problems I will post but so far so good.
