Hi again,

Wow am I glad you are all here to help me out! Ok, so we are planning on putting the "girls" into the coop this weekend as they are getting way too big for the kennel. They are a little over 4 weeks old, fully feathered and very active. Do we need to supply them with the heat lamp still? If so, for how long? All day or just at night? Where in the coop? We have a hen "house" as well as a lovely run, but not sure where to place the lamp if it's still needed. If someone could give me some answers, that would be GREAT!

At 4 weeks, MINE were not fully feathered. We moved them out at 4 weeks and provided a heat lamp for the nights. Our temps here in Minnesota were still in the low 40's during most nights. They are 7 weeks now and I still do use the heat lamp when it gets down in the 40's. Watch their behavior if you can... see if they are huddled together (needing heat).
