Hi everyone! Hope y’all are having a great day so far. Here’s a bit about me and my flock...

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

No, I’m not very new to chickens I’ve had chickens for 4 years now. I remember when we got 10 of our 2 day old chicks from my uncle. They were all Easter Eggers. Except for three they were the large, white meat birds. I’m the type that names all of my chicken that I get

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
About 20

(3) What breeds do you have?
I own:
Ameraucanas both black and blue
Seramas
Easter eggers
Barred rock
Olive egger
Self blue maran
Splash maran
Cochin
Frizzle Cochin

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love the personalities of all my chickens and I also show chickens and plan to start breeding my ameraucanas as well as my seramas though my seramas are still a great WIP

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I love riding horses and does hanging out with my bearded dragon count too?

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
So I have a few other pets
~My horse Carmella she is a Pasofino palomino.
~ my dog Bo he is a white German Shepard
~ Harley my bearded dragon (recently added to the family)
~ of course my pet beta Jupiter. The oldest beta I know he is about 4-5 years old now.

Frizzled Polish pullet
Frizzled serama pullet

WOW Chicken Chic, you have some interesting animals. You enjoy hanging out with your bearded dragon so of course it counts. My adult niece would love Carmella, she is our horse person. I'm the dog nut, used to breed and show Cocker Spaniels. Would love to see Bo. You must be giving your beta Jupiter excellent care to keep him hanging around 4-5 years.
BYC does have a serama thread. My friend Arline used to have two matronly ones and a silkie but, lost all three a day apart to Mareks.

Here is Bo he is such a sweetheart but not totally what you’d expect when thinking of a German Shepard he was the runt. That is so sad to hear about Aline’s chickens . My friend Sayde recently got three silkies from my neighbor who has seen to gone crazy with silkies

Bo is a handsome dog. I'm a runt myself - smallest of the siblings(my mother was also tiny) but, I make my presence felt.
