(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Had chickens (& Ducks) for about 3 years.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
10 Chickens, 6 Ducks.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Barred Rock, Lavender Orphington, Ameraucana, One Silky, Mallards, and Pekin Ducks.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chiDuck's.
Watching their personalities develop as they grow, and building things to keep them safe, happy, and comfortable. Oh, and having fresh eggs is a big plus too.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Building things, reading, and photography.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I have a Pyrenees I got as a Puppy out of a parking lot. She's grown to be pretty large, but is basically a big furry baby. I work in the meteorological and science field and have found a fascination with how animals seem to read their environments so well, sometimes even seeming more in tune with nature than we are.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Longtime lurker when reading up on nutrition, illnesses, and health topics. Decided to join looking for help with my ill Pekin, as well as to be better able to interact with other like minded folks.
