Hello :) Not sure what all to say here so I'll answer some template questions :)

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Been around chickens (and many different farm animals) all my life and bought a house a few years ago to start a little "farmstead" as we call it of our own :) We brought our two horses and three dogs here and started our flock of chickens a few years ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We currently have 18 hens and 1 rooster, resisting the urge to get new chicks this year, building a new coop to house more chickens and will probably add some more breeds next spring :)

(3) What breeds do you have?
Salmon Faverolle, Rhode Island Red, Cuckaroo Maran, Wyndotte, Sicilian Buttercup, Americauna, Plymouth Rock

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love animals in general and chickens are pretty low-cost and fun, plus they are so funny and I enjoy having a tiny egg "business" and learning all the things there is to know! I also really like that my small kids can learn and enjoy with me, when horses are kind of out of their league for caring for now they have learned a lot about animal care, life, building, etc. already from the chickens
