Hello, Just picked up my first set of chicks they are about four weeks old going to rise them in my yard. This is very new to me so I am in hope that this site can help. I am looking for plans for a cheap coop to keep them in unit I can move them in the yard. I am working on area in the back yard. I have been told you should have a square yard per chicken. But, that will come later. My need now is to build a small pin or box for my garage to house them in now. I have 10 total not sure on how big I should make it. Any help would be great. Thank you

Hello and welcome....so glad you joined BYC

Congrats on your new chicks :) A lot of people use those plastic rubbermaid tubs with pine shavings or other appropriate bedding (no cedar shavings). I used a 100 gallon rubbermaid horse water tank for mine.

Good luck to you

So glad you could join. If you have any questions about raising your chicks, you might post in the "Raising Baby Chicks" section or the "Coop Construction" section as well...
