Chirping
Hello! First time chick momma here! I have spent much time farm-sitting and taking care of chickens but never had my own.
After much research, we decided our best route was ordering our day old chicks from Meyer hatchery as it was the closest to us. Our babies were hatched on April 4th and arrived on April 6th (my birthday...best present ever!). 8 Barred Rocks (6 hens 2 roos) 7 Easter Eggers and 3 Black Copper Marans. They are all healthy and growing so fast! We think we have identified one roo....but quite unsure if we are correct but it's sure fun to guess!
We plan to move them outside to their coop at about 6 weeks old if our weather allows it.
They had their first outside experience on this past Sunday while we cleaned the brooder. It was in the 80's here. After they got over the initial scare, I believe they enjoyed it.
Thank you for letting me be a part of this wonderful forum!
