(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I've been raising chickens for several years. Most of my chickens are production RIR, but I am beginning to raise a few that came from Dick Horstman's line.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I currently have 19 hens and 1 rooster.
(3) What breeds do you have?
RIR
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
My animals are what I enjoy spending my time with. They relax me and enjoy interactingwith them.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I also raise ADGA ND goats. I enjoy hunting, fishing, and gardening.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with 7 children. I am retired from the Marine Corps and currentlywork as an RN.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've been stalking here for a couple of years. There is great information here. I finally joined as I am more interested in raising heritage rir.
