Hello and seeking advice from Mainers

Hello,

It has been my long-time goal to have a garden and chickens, but living in an apartment for the last 12 years has made this unrealistic. (I did manage to grow some delicious strawberries on a roof for awhile...!) This summer we will be moving to the Portland, Maine area and will hopefully finally be able to get a house with a yard!

I'm wondering if any current Maine residents have advice on neighborhoods that are chicken friendly in Cape Elizabeth and Falmouth. I know both towns allow backyard chickens, but several of the neighborhoods we have looked in have covenants that don't allow them.
