Hi, everyone.

I've been lurking the BYC site for some time now, and I guess I just finally decided that it was time to make an appearance. :3

I don't have any flocks yet; we've faced a lot of road blocks on our journey, but I think we are pretty sure we are going to start keeping a few quail around! I'm excited to talk to people who are doing it and learn about your flocks. <3

Thanks so much, that's super helpful! We are still trying to iron out some of the details and decide what's best for us, but hopefully we will get started in the coming weeks.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before joining.) Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your quail.

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.
Definitely check out the links NorthFLChick has provided you with. We are so glad you decided to make an account!

I hope you can get some birds too and don't have to worry about any more road blocks.

So glad you joined the BYC flock

this year I have noticed a definite upswing in people getting quail. I think in some areas where chickens are not permitted they generally do allow quail and guineas.

Those links were super helpful, Northflchick. :D

Yeah, I can't keep chickens or ducks where I live. Quail are fine, I have no idea about guinea but I imagine they would be allowed as well. Quail seem like a good starter, too, I think. I obviously don't know so much but the space and care requirements seem like they would be more manageable for someone just starting out. When we move in the next year or two, if all goes well, I may get some chickens (FINALLY).

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone. :3
