Hi all. I am a new member to BYC, but I've often read through the forums to find answers to questions. So much useful information on here and a big thank you to all the members who post that useful information.

I had chickens and ducks when I was younger and I'm just getting back into them. I'd forgotten how fun they can be and how addictive. I live in "up state" New York. Never could quite figure out why its called up state, you can drive 6 hours north of me and still be in NY. I'm right around the Hudson Valley area. (Sorry if this is sporadic, I'm not really sure how to go about introducing myself.) I'm 30, I was a 4-H member for 10 years and now a leader for the last 12, not for poultry though, lol. I was in the goat and dog programs when I was a member and now am a leader for dog and sheep.

Let me introduce you to my family.

A Beagle- Cheyenne
A Black Lab- Bleu
5 Cats- Ranma, Snow, Nermal, Sparky and Majick
2 La Mancha Goats- Bellann and Beau
7 Rouen Ducklings, about 5 weeks old right now- They don't have names, but I do call one Lady Quackerly, even thought I think it may be a drake

1 Golden Comet Hen- B.B. (short for Bar-B-Que, we don't intend on eating her though)
1 Buff Orpington Hen- Cassie (short for Casserole, don't intend on eating her either)
1 Speckled Sussex Hen- Francis (not short for anything)
2 Lavender Guineas- Tony and Guido (I didn't name them)
1 Pearl Guinea- No (short for "No Name")
4 Cinammon Queen chickie hens, about 1 1/2 weeks right now- They don't have names either, I just call them all my peepers
And 1 Blue Slate Turkey Hen- Spencer, who is my 'little' gray shadow

Next year I'm hoping to get more Orpingtons, some Dorkings (really, really, really want Dorkings) and some Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. I've also seen Chocolate Call Ducks and I wouldn't mind some of those if I can find some place to buy them from.

Um, I think that's about it, not really sure what else to write about me anyway. I do have a question about my duckies though, that I haven't been able to find the answer to by searching on here. Should I ask it in here, or should I ask it in a regular question forum? Thanks for taking the time to read my ramblings about me.
