My experience with chickens goes back more than half a century. I grew up in farm country in Iowa. I have been around critters all my life. I don't know it all but I do know a lot of people that just might. If I can't answer your questions I'll try to contact one of the other locals in the business and see if they have an answer for you. I will do my best to be an asset to the Chicken world.
We grow much of our own feed. We run a sugar bush (maple syrup), 2 acres of organic gardens and a large orchard. Our farm is not all that large but it is very intense. We raise our own beef, pork, lamb and of course chicken. And we have bees.
I do a lot of weird experimentation with my birds to try and find out what works and what doesn't. I have made some progress in learning how to think like a chicken. I am currently working on some posts of odd/weird/strange ideas, devices and tools to use on the chicken ranch to make life better for everyone. Keep watching.
