Hello everyone,
Happy to join the chicken raising clan here!
I've had chickens for over a year now. We started off with 7 back in March of ’24. Unfortunately, we lost 5 of them to a fox a few months later . That's when we learned the hard way about free-ranging in the country. Thankfully, one of my husband's friends had a flock of exactly 5 hens that he was trying to get rid of. They had gotten them around the same time as us so it was perfect. We were back to 7 again. This year, we decided to get a few more as we are selling eggs to friends and neighbors. Now we're at 16 chickens. The newest additions have yet to start laying but I'm excited for production to increase!
Now I can't imagine life without my feathered girlies. They're so much fun to watch and care for and there's nothing better than a farm fresh egg!
