I'm not good at introductions so I just did the copy paste and here's my Q&A!
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I'm not a pro at all but I'm also not new to them. I've had a couple of pet hens, as my nickname is Ellie May Clampet, but I just got my first "flock" last weekend.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
Seven.
(3) What breeds do you have?
I'm hoping someone can help me with that. I think they're mixed.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Chicken kisses. Never knew those existed before I got these guys.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Horse training and rescue. Hiking. Herbalism. Anything natural.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I'm a happy mom of three awesome kids and I'm in the baby stages or starting an Equine rescue and therapy center. I plan to rescue and rehabilitate horses and use them to help kids and adults with disabilities, including veterans.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I've found lots of help from the forum via Google in the last week and saw no reason to avoid the inevitable.
