We ended up with two baby chicks

. We will surely get two more soon. We thought perhaps this way no one is completely left out. The ducks may follow, but our major concern is with the two current lady birds. Not quite sure where to place the coop yet, but we're getting there. We're thinking, concrete floor with lots and lots of hay. The hay can later be added to the compost pile.
What do you

think?

Straw or woodshavings might be a better option for inside the coop, if that's what you meant by the hay. otherwise, looks like you've got it all sorted! Happy chicken keeping! Oh, and just to add, if you are planning to have a run and then let the hens out in the yard (I don't know if this is common or not) but my girls just shout at the gate to be let out even if their run is much more exciting! Maybe my hens are just strange...
