Hello!

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my post. I'm new to chicks / chickens. Basically three weeks ago I took on ten, week old chicks. I have thoroughly enjoyed rearing them, they are a happy, healthy bunch!
I'm just a little confused.......can anybody offer their help with regards to informing me of what breed they are? I can then focus my research upon this particular breed to enable me to give them the best life possible!

Any help would be much appreciated!

They are four weeks old tomorrow, they have hardly needed the heat lamp for the past week and have been enjoying the outdoors on sunny days.

Many Thanks

Kerry

Hi Kerry,
I can't tell you what breed your chicks are, but I can tell that they look content! You've been doing a good job so far. Try going to the Chicken Breeds thread for some help with identification. Best of luck and welcome to BYC!

Hi and welcome to our flock!

So glad you could join the BYC community! Congratulations on beginning your chicken adventures. You seem to have some lovely, healthy chicks! Individual photos of each bird would be best to identify them. However, the reddish ones with some white look like Red Sex-Links to me. The all-white birds are probably Leghorns. All look like pullets so far. Those two breeds are excellent choices for a beginning flock. Each should lay lots of eggs and have a decent temperament.

Good luck with your chicks and I hope you enjoy BYC as much as we do!

I'm glad you joined our "flock!"

It looks like you have some Red Sex-link pullets (the red and white birds) and some White Leghorns or White Rocks. For now, they all look like pullets.

Thank you very much everybody!

Gosh, this is a friendly forum

Thank you for steering me in the right direction. Tomorrow I shall post a few individual pictures of them, I can't do that right now as they are all snuggling and settling for the night, bless.

I shall take your advice and leave it a few weeks to post in the breed section.

Many thanks for your help again, it's very much appreciated.
