Hi, just joined and wanted to say Hi.
We moved out to the country about a year and a half ago and started a small farm. Right now I am handling 14 waterfowl and 27 chickens. We have 8 baby chicks in the brooder and 19 full grown birds running around in the yard. The ducks are 6 Khaki Campbells, 6 Silver Appleyards and 2 African Geese.
The chicks are mostly Wellsummers with a few Golden Comets mixed in. We are hatching our own and have some mix breeds between those two now.
Been working with the birds for about 14 months now and simply love the time I get to spend with them. the fresh eggs are really nice. They live outdoors with mobile coops to sleep in and are always behind at least one electric fence. Predators have been a bit of a problem but a lot less since I put up the electric fencing. The 35 dollar Amazon mannequin helps a lot too.
