We are relatively new to chickens, my family bought our chickens last year for Mother's Day so it's been almost a year now and we are getting the hang of things. We have two sex-link reds and two black australorps. The two reds are Kiwi and Ruby and the two Australorps are Kacie and Petunia. Each one has their own little quirks and personailities and we really enjoy having them. They are mature now and laying and they are a joy to have. Each of our chickens has been claimed by a family member; Ruby being my mothers, Petunia being mine, and Kacie and Kiwi belonging to my Step-dad and Grandmother.
Other than chickens I like to garden, read, horseback ride, travel, hike, and be involved in artistic endeavours. I love to paint and draw, mainly horses.
