(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? Yes, I am new to raising chickens, I got mine Nov 1st 2020.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I have 6 pullets and 2 roos.
(3) What breeds do you have? I have 4 Easter Eggers pullets, 1 Silverudd Blue rooster each of which are 16 weeks old, and 2 Lavender Orpington pullets and 1 roo that are 8 weeks old.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Each chickens personality is fun to learn and the ones that have gotten as attached to me as I them are fun to watch follow me and check out everything I am doing.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? I am a worm farmer aka vermiculturer. I also garden and am working towards our homestead being 100% sustainable and organic.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. We have 6 boys and 2 grandchildren. My husband is a paramedic and I am a registered nurse. And we also have 4 female dogs, as well as lots and lots of worms.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been indulging in reading everything I can to educate myself about everything I do. And this wonderful site has popped up a few times which has intrigued me to join the community. Yay!
