(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Definitely new to chickens (2 weeks new!). But in such a short time, I'm already hooked and want more.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

We bought our first chicks on 15 April, one bantam and one regular sized pullet.

(3) What breeds do you have?

Both our chicks are unknown breeds. I'm hoping someone here can help us in identifying them.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?

I was Googling for info on raising chickens.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I am also a novice gardener and weaver, and an advanced knitter and crocheter.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

We are an Army family with three teenage sons and a Yorkie-mix pup living in Georgia. My husband is our soldier, I'm a homemaker and the kids are all students, of course.

I'm looking forward to getting to know people here. There is so much information on this site/forum, and I'm absorbing as much of it as I can.
