I just got my first chicks today. I got 5 Welsumer pullets. Pullets are girls, yes? As you can see I am very new to chickens. I have been talking about getting chickens ever since one of the regular customers where I work brought in some eggs from his chickens. Two years later, and a lot of reading; finally did it!
When researching coops, just about everyone I spoke to told me about backyard chickens and what a great site it is. Being a newbie I am sure I will be posting a lot of questions and concerns.
I live in North Carolina and when I am not working as a Barista; I am out in my backyard in my garden.
I have two teenagers and two cats. So far the cats haven't noticed the chicks. We will see how long that lasts.
