Just introducing ourselves to the chicken world. My name is Eric and my wife is Lesley. We live in North Texas, in a rural community named callisburg. We started our first batch of chicks in January. Started out with 35 birds. A mixed flock of white and red leghorns and a few pullets. We are now down to 10 for the moment. Had a few to many roos. We have 3 white leghorn hens 2 pullets 2 red leghorn hens. And we have our 3 roosters. Not sure if that is a good ratio, but they are getting along and I will be adding more hens soon. The hens that I have are laying now not regular but at least on egg a day. We look forward to hearing everyone's experiences and knowledge.

! Pleased you joined us!! With 7 hens, 3 roosters is two too many. The hens will get overbred - their backs will get torn up. I'd make alternate plans for two of those. Good luck to you!
