Hi everyone,

I'm from South Australia, and live in the wonderful Adelaide Hills on a nice, big property. We have 12 hens, and a rooster, and recently have had five chicks hatch (with some more to come in the next few weeks!)

We moved here about three years ago, and got five chickens 'with the house.' Since then we adopted some battery hens (a couple of whom died), three isa browns, and some other chickens who we think are a OEGB cross. Not long ago we got the rooster, who is a white sussex. I'm looking forward to seeing what colour the chicks are

That's about all for now. Nice to meet everyone!

If you want to catch up with other Aussies try "Australia six states and one funny little island," or "Australians where are you?" They are a very lively and colorful group, I enjoy their posts even though I am from the midwest of USA

Welcome to the forum, fellow Aussie! I'm from Victoria. How lucky you are to live in the Adelaide Hills!
Can you post photos of your chicks? I'm also hatching some chicks at home. It's so exciting, isn't it?
If you have problems navigating the forum, give me a yell. I'm a newbie here but have learned a lot in a few weeks. Everyone is very helpful.
