My name is George. I live in Westminster CO, a suburb of Denver. I currently have 3 adult hens and 4 chicks that are roughly 13 weeks old. The adult hens are just over a year old and have been rather good egg layers since about the age of 6 months. I can't tell you the breeds of each chicken, but I was surprised how much I enjoy having and caring for chickens. I was amazed at the personalities each display and their intelligence. Each of my chickens know their names. They know who feeds them, waters them and takes care of them. They each enjoy sitting on my lap and allow me to inspect their feathers, their feet and look at their skin. Anyhow, I know I am still new to raising backyard chickens. but so far I am having a lot of fun.
