(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I had chickens as a child but started my own small flock a couple of years ago.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
I have 4.
(3) What breeds do you have? One EE, a couple of australoups and a brown shaver... I think.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love sitting out back with my girls and just enjoy their company. They just melt the stress of my work day away! I love seeing their different personalities and how they interact with each other. The dust bath and the sunbathing are my favorites!
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I like to paint. I'm also hands on so I like to take on small building projects like adding on to my chicken coop!
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. I live in a small florida coastal town with my husband, we also have 4 cats!
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have always enjoyed this community and our common bond of wanting to brag, seek advice, offer advice, sometimes console and enjoy the camaraderie of chicken ownership! I have seeked advice in the past and it has helped tremendously !
