(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We had chickens for about 6 years and had to rehome them nearly 2 years ago.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
None, but I'm hoping to get them again.

(3) What breeds do you have?
We had mostly Easter Eggers, but also a Buff Orpington, a Comet, a Barred Plymouth Rock, and some Favorolle hens.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I love to watch them scratching around doing their chicken thing.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Gardening.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We 2 daughters and we have a parrot that makes perfect chicken sounds.

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
I've been on and off your sight throughout the past 8 years. I joined this community because I want to have chickens again and I want to find others nearby me to help me navigate the issues our City of Plantation may have regarding keeping backyard chickens.

I hope to connect with other chicken-loving neighbors here in south Florida.

Love that your parrot makes chicken sounds! When I was a kid, we had a mynah bird who learned to imitate many things -- including creaking doors, cartoon voices he picked up from the TV and whistles that would bring the neighbors' dogs running to the fence to see who was calling them.
