(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I grew up with a mixed flock, but got a flock of my very own 8 months ago!

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Chicken watching, playing with the flock, seeing generations of chicks, and yummy omelettes

Photography, hiking, baking
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I’ve been bartending/working in restaurants for the past 18 years and my husband does data processing for a local company. We have a spoiled rotten border collie, 3 cats, 6 parrots, a fish, and now chickens all situated on 8 acres in (almost) the middle of nowhere
(7)Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC when we were first researching what we needed for starting a flock... so about a year ago? I guess I’ve know about it for just as long. I finally decided to join because we think one of our ladies is going broody (we also took the plunge and purchased an incubator!) so I wanted to have as much access to information and support as I could get
