Hi all,
I guess I've been a member since 2015 so I might have introduced myself before but its been a while. I've been steady soaking up information waiting for the right time to get my chickens. I had a couple chickens some years ago but I had bird dogs too... Bad combination... I just recently got a LGD (Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix) and figured he needed something to do so I worked my rear off building a coop.
I rescued two Guineas and a friend gave me a couple older hens and a rooster then I couldn't help myself and got two chicks from Atwoods. :) It said sex link on the tank but their signs were all messed up and I don't really know what they are. The older hens are Easter Eggers and the Rooster is a mix.
Sure do appreciate the resource that this group is and hope that I can be a contributor instead of just a taker at some point.

Hope your dog will be protecting your birds well, any kind of predator can get through the fencing on your property. Also a variety of preds can dig under your small run and get to your chickens.

Yes, my dogs job is to protect the chickens. When he's doing well staying with them they will be able to range more than just his yard (which is what the fence is).
