Hello everyone!

I'm excited to be a part of the group! I know it's called "Back Yard Chickens" but we have a flock of ducks, currently 6 ladies. A few days ago we brought home a couple of baby geese for the first time as well! Over the years we store bought a Buff, Rouen, Indian Runner, and a Cayuga and now most are what I like to call "mutt ducks" of these breeds that we hatched at home. As for the new geese, one is an African Goose- Katanga and the other is a Toulouse Goose- Lucy (duh). The best part of having ducks is watching them run and splash around the yard. They totally have personalities! We also have a pooch- Otto, three cats- Ebony, Legs, and Carl, and a goldfish- Pig. Other than duck farming, I enjoy practicing sustainability, hiking, reading and gardening. I have a degree in environmental science and am looking at potential graduate programs currently. Over the years of duck farming, we've ran into predators, Bumblefoot, and other issues I'm sure you're all aware of. I decided to finally become a part of the community to be able to post some of our problems and solutions and whatnot. Looking forward to reading some posts!
