Hello from Alabama

Hello chicken enthusiasts. I hail from Shelby Co. Alabama, essentially SE Birmingham. I am in the process of buying my 11acre kingdom here and chickens will likely play a large role in the autonomy of my little fiefdom. As my UID suggests, my intention is to become [mostly] self sufficient.

My interest in our feathered friends will primarily be meat. This may change however; as with any venture as demand rises, so must supply.

I appreciate all the information yall have already provided me. I havent come across a single question during my planning phase which was not answered thoroughly on this site.
