Hi! I've been lurking for a while but decided to join today! Short rundown:
44 years old, female, married, two kids (both barely adults/both live at home), 1 chocolate lab (Lillie), 3 mama rabbits & 1 boy. I got the rabbits last July 4 so they are named, George, Martha and Harriet Tubman. The other one is Harvey. I thought he was a he, but he's a she and the name is stuck.
I have a day job in a Manufacturing Facility - I am HR, Safety and the party planner! Hubby is finishing his degree at the local college & watering, feeding and mowing. DD is still in school; DS drives a big-rig and stays gone for weeks at a time.
When not at work, I am gardening & raising puppies, rabbits and chickens. I really want a goat but I haven't told DH yet, so we will see!
I have 10 RIR - 7 weeks old and 6 Dominiques - 4 weeks old. Looks like I may have about 10 pullets total. I'm not a complete newbie - I raised chickens 10 years ago but stopped when I moved.
My reason for lurking? I am building the chicken pen from one of the old dog kennels. Originally wire fence and steel posts, I'm replacing one side at a time with a recycled pallet fence. I guess that will be the weekend project for most of the spring, then I will move on to a better coop. I get the pallets for free so I think it'll work out nice.
I've also been looking at feeders & waterers. There are some really nice designs here!
Anyway, that's me! Hello everyone!
