Hello from Alabama

I am new to this site and to raising chickens .I will be adding chickens to our acreage within the next 3 months.Any advice ? I would like to have no more than 10 chicken -mostly for eggs right now and within a year chickens for meat.I don't want a big
coop ,just simple .Any advice would be greatly appreciated !!
