Hi all! I'm a sometime lurker, new member to BYC. I'm very grateful for all of the helpful info I've gathered over the last year or so. Figured I should actually become a member :).

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?

Got my first chickens close to 1.5 years ago

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

I have one rooster and 5 hens that are about 1.5 years old, then have 4 pullets and 3 cockerels I've not yet integrated into the flock

(3) What breeds do you have?

Easter Eggers, Lavender Wyandotte, Production Blue, French Blue Copper Marans, and Copper Rock Marans

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?

I really enjoy watching them and seeing their different personalities. And of course the eggs!

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

I collect trading cards and sports cards

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.

Proud pet parent to 2 doggos and sometimes parent to a yard cat when he stops by

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D

Found BYC when I was thinking about getting chickens and have been reading the forums ever since - so much useful info!

Hi, you have a nice mix of breeds...any time you'd like to share a photo, we'd like to see!
Thank you!

The first 5 photos are from earlier in the year because they are molting right now, but these are the older birds.
- Easter Egger roo and hen (both are Speckled Sussex x Ameraucana crosses, they are direct siblings. They were hatched from a friend's eggs.)
- Lavender Wyandotte hen (purchased as a chick)
- Production Blue hen (purchased as a chick)
- 2x French Blue Copper Marans hens (purchased as chicks)

The next 8 photos are this year's babies. I hatched all but the Copper Rock Marans, she was purchased as a chick. Daddy to everybody is my adult roo with moms as noted.
- 3 full EE (both parents are the Speckled Sussex x Ameraucana crosses) - 2 pullets and 1 cockerel. 2 got muffs and beards, the other looks nothing like them.
- 2x EE x Production Blue - both are pullets. I love how different they look.
- 2x EE x French Blue Copper Marans - both are cockerels. Only one got feathered legs. Pretty boys and again, they look so different from each other!
- Copper Rock Marans pullet (purchased as a chick) - she's s a spicy bird!

Thank you! YES - I do! I'm actually not going to integrate any of the boys. I'm actively seeking homes for them (I posted them over in the New Mexico thread in case anybody is interested).

Pretty flock, thanks for sharing pictures!
