Hello Folks!
I'm brand new to the hobby (as in I don't have chickens, nor do I have a coop...) I am currently waiting on someone to get back to me as I am hoping to get a few Chanteclers, Barred Rock Plymouths and a number of meat birds (don't know what yet). We have a great location for the coop (used to be a dog house) and run. This weekend will be a busy one as I plan on starting to set up the coop (it's in peices after the move from Ontario to BC) A few adjustments will need to be made but I can't wait to start! I decided to keep chickens for a number of reasons 1) I can control what my chickens eat 2) I get fresh eggs every day 3) something new to learn!. My grandfather raised chickens and geese when I was a kid so it's kinda neat to do it myself.
Oh, I'm in the Kootenays in BC (litterally at the foot of the Rockies)
Cheers!
Cathy
