Hello from California!

Hello! My name is Heather and I am a newbie chicken owner! We live in the bay area and have two chickens currently. I don't even know what kind they are! We fell into chicken life when my daughter did a life cycle lesson at school and we got to take home one of the baby chickens that hatched. That "chicken" turned out to be a rooster but at that point I had already bought two more chickens to keep him company. The rooster went to a nice farm our friends have because we are not allowed roosters within our city limits. Our ladies Nikki and Hayhay are about 8 months old and have really laying which we are very very excited about. I really wanted to join this forum because I have so many questions about chicken care and no one to talk to about it.
