Hello from California

Hello to all the members.

Several months ago one of our sons brought home
some young hens. None of us had any experience
with raising chickens. It's been a learn-as-you-go
experience for us.
I do have some questions and so thankful
that we have this forum where we can now come
to get your advice and answers.
I'm happy to have found this forum!

I knew NOTHING about chickens before I joined BYC. I even had some information wrong, such as the belief that only roosters had combs. (Boy, was I upset when all eight of my supposed pullet chicks crew combs! But only one was an accidental rooster, and he is now the dominant rooster in my large flock.)

Not only will you be able to learn stuff to do to prevent mistakes, you can learn stuff to fix the mistakes you make because you didn't check BYC first.

It's the members that make BYC so great, and I have made some friends IRL as well as many great friends I have never even met.
