Hi there!
My name is Josee and I'm from the rural parts of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
My husband and i decided to take up raising chickens last spring - we have a large property that belonged to my grandmother and it already had a big coop just waiting to be used.
We have 10 "bigs" as we like to call them - 5 red sexlinks and 5 barred rock hens. No roosters in that bunch.
We also added 3 "littles" to our flock in February 2017 - the famous silkies!! We have a rooster and 2 hens (1 hen has just started laying).
As of yesterday, we added 5 chicks to our flock under a broody barred rock hen. We have 4 golden laced wyandottes and 1 blue silkie.
I've been getting advice from this community since the very beginning but have just now signed up to be able to post and ask questions.
Looking fwd to being a part of this community!
