My husband and I live way out in the country of Perry County, PA. Also referrred to as PeCo. Last year we started our chicken family, 4 RIR, 2 Aracauna, 1 Buff Brahma. Then the love of chickens began. They are like family. Our 2 boys love having them as pets. We call our youngest son, the Chicken Whisperer b/c he can go in and pick up any chicken without a problem and they seem to just flock to him. This year for his birthday, when we asked what he wanted, he said more chickens. We expanded the coop and now have 21, 2 week old peeps. They are all different breeds, more RIR, some Polishes, more Aracaunas, Jersey Rocks, Black Stars, Red Frizzels. Love them all! We are so excitted to watch them continue growing, and yes, they all have names. Love the eggs too, so do our neighbors and my husband's co-workers. Very glad we have found this site. Have found a lot of useful hints/ tips so far. Nice to have found a place that loves chickens as much as we do.

Sounds like you have quite the assortment of chickens. Pictures are mandatory once you are able to post them.

Thank you for the warm welcome. We will post pictures as soon as we get our cameras working. For some reason, we are good at the whole chicken thing, but not so good when it come to electronics/technology

Our youngest son has asked about joining 4-H with chickens. We also heard you can show eggs? How do you show eggs?
