I'm going to use the intro template to make sure I hit the important points.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Going into my third year as an independent chicken momma, though I grew up with my parents keeping lots of chickens.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
40+ but not yet 50.
(3) What breeds do you have?
French Black Copper Marans, Welsummers, Leghorns, Golden sexlinks, Ameraucanas (more like Easter Eggers that lay blue), Whiting True Blues and Whiting True Greens.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Kids are crazy about them and the possibilities.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Books, bees, gardening, and the neverending learning.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
West German show line dog is another member of our family, along with a million indoor and feral cats.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
Google kept taking me to this site whenever I was looking up answers.
